The
Background
For many years, Christians looked to the chaplains
of the South African Railway Mission for the
Ministration of the Word and Sacrament. As
development increased and Government departments
moved one after another from Livingstone to Lusaka
it became apparent that a church building should be
provided. In this regard the Church of All
Saints was built and dedicated on 5th
November 1933 (the All Saints Church building
currently houses the cafeteria for the Zambia

Organ |
 |
| One
of the most conspicuous structures in the
Cathedral must surely be the Organ which
stands majestically in the west gallery, and
visitors or newcomers are often seen gazing in
awe at this man-made creation as if they are
“lost in wonder, love and praise.”
The Organ is indeed called The King of
Instruments -- being the largest and most
complex musical instrument under the control

The daily bread booklet page for 24th April 1991 had the following story: “If we make our own preference the basic principle for determining right and wrong, eventually we destroy all principle. If we reject the absolute moral standards of the Bible, sooner or later we end up with no standards, or at best a flimsy foundation of inconsistencies.
ASH WEDNESDAY TO EASTER PREFACE – WHY ASHES What are ashes? They are the product of burning something away. They are what is left over after fire passes over or through something. They are the waste after the heat and light are gone.
